Will I need frequent follow up appointments for medications?

Very likely! When starting a new medication, it is important to follow up with further assessments to determine if the medication is effective. Because some people can be sensitive to medications, it is protocol to start new medications and increase as needed gradually. This may take a few appointments to be sure that the medication is working optimally for the patient. Your health is our priority!

What if I am changing providers? Is there anything that I will need to bring with me to my first appointment?

As with any new provider, it is essential to know any previous diagnosis, or diagnostics testing that you may have from the past. It would be ideal if the patient has previous information available. If not, we can request your medical records from your previous provided if absolutely necessary. During the appointment, we will review your past medical and surgical history to come up with an optimal plan of care.

What is genesight testing?

Genesight testing is used when initial diagnosis and treatments have failed with multiple SSRIs or other psych medications.

Genesight is a quick cheek swab completed in office. It is then sent to the lab where your DNA is evaluated with the ability to narrow down ideal treatment medications for the patient.

The patient then is given the results, and adjustment of the medication treatment plan are discussed with the patient for further options.

IV Therapy

Is IV Therapy Safe?

IV hydration therapy is a safe and effective way to replenish your body with necessary vitamins and nutrients. It is always recommended that you check with your primary care provider before starting any new treatments. IV hydration is used for people with vitamin deficiencies, digestive disturbances, or a weakened immune system. A complimentary wellness exam will be completed the day of your appointment to make sure IV therapy is a good fit for you.

How often should I receive treatments?

The frequency for treatments depends on the patient. Many patients receive IV therapy monthly to maintain a healthy lifestyle. IV therapy can be administered as often as every week. Factors that differ with treatment are vitamin deficiencies, medication management, and chronic disease. Feel free to ask questions for the right regimen for you!

How does IV therapy work?

IV or Intravenous Therapy uses a solution similar to the natural body chemistry to rehydrate the body. Vitamins, minerals, or amino acids can be added to the solution for treatment of a variety of treatments. IV therapy bypasses the gut and liver making the solution 100% absorbed and bioavailable! This allows for quicker results in therapy and an optimal health!

What is the different between oral supplements and IV hydration?

Oral supplements of vitamins or minerals are a great way to keep the body healthy. Unfortunately, it can take weeks to months for results with oral supplementation.

IV hydration therapy delivers necessary fluids and electrolytes into the body's blood stream for immediate absorption. The body is able to absorb 100% of the nutrients because it bypasses the liver and gut. This makes IV hydration more ideal for patients seeking immediate relief of symptoms or ideal replenishment.

How long will my appointment last?

The appointment is typically between 30-45 minutes for a full IV Hydration infusion to be administered. During the appointment, you should also be prepared to answer questions about your medical health status with a wellness assessment by the provider. Some IV hydration drips can take up to 2 hours depending on the treatment.

IV injection appointments last between 10-20 minutes.

When should I expect to feel the effects of my treatment?

Everyone responds to treatment differently and processes the vitamins at different metabolic rates. Typically, patients report feeling hydrated and pain relief immediately after the infusion is completed. Patients receiving treatments with regards to mental clarity, concentration or energy, will notice a boost within 1-3 days of treatment. Patients who are receiving an immune support IV may need several treatments to feel a full effect and recovery.

How long does it last?

Similar to the difference in metabolic status for feeling the positive effects of IV therapy, metabolic differences also impacts the way our body keeps the nutrients. Because the nutrients are mostly water soluble, they are easily discarded from the body in 10-14 days. The positive benefits of the nutrients may last longer. The more frequent the patient receives IV hydration therapy, the better the levels in the body will be. Consistent care of the body with ideal vitamin replenishment will help you feel healthier longer!

Who will administer my treatments?

Prior to your treatment, a wellness exam will be completed by the provider. The treatment of IV hydration or Intramuscular vitamin shots will be administered by a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.

Are there any restrictions after my therapy?

There is no restriction to follow after administration of IV or IM shots. After IV therapy it is recommended to rest the body and increase water intake for maximizing the detoxing effect of removing toxins. After removal of the IV, it is recommended to leave the bandage in place for 30 minutes to an hour. IM shots are covered with a Band-aid. Soreness and slight bruising at the injection site for IV or IM is common.
